Withdrawal Policy

Economic Trends and Business Review (ETBR) values the integrity and transparency of the publication process and recognizes that circumstances may arise that require authors to withdraw their manuscript from consideration. This policy outlines the conditions and procedures for manuscript withdrawal before and after submission or publication.

1. Pre-Submission Withdrawal:

  • Manuscripts Not Yet Submitted to Review: Authors are free to withdraw their manuscript at any time before submitting it to the peer-review process. To withdraw a manuscript, authors should notify the journal's editorial office promptly via email, stating their intention to withdraw.

  • No Penalty for Pre-Submission Withdrawal: Authors are not subject to any penalties or fees for withdrawing their manuscript before the peer review process has begun.

2. Post-Submission but Pre-Acceptance Withdrawal:

  • After Manuscript Submission: If a manuscript has been submitted but not yet accepted or rejected, authors may request a withdrawal. Authors must contact the editorial office with a formal written request to withdraw the manuscript, providing the reason for the withdrawal.

  • Acceptance of Withdrawal: The manuscript will be officially withdrawn once the request is received and processed. After withdrawal, the manuscript will no longer be considered for review or publication.

  • No Refund or Compensation: As there are no submission or processing fees for manuscripts, no refunds or compensation will be provided for the withdrawal of manuscripts.

3. Post-Acceptance but Pre-Publication Withdrawal:

  • Withdrawals After Acceptance: If a manuscript is accepted for publication but has not yet been published, authors can request to withdraw the article. However, the request must be made as soon as possible, and authors may be required to provide a valid reason for the withdrawal.

  • Impact on Publication Timeline: Withdrawal after acceptance may delay the publication process and will be formally documented. Authors must formally request the withdrawal in writing, explaining the circumstances.

  • No Refund or Compensation: There are no refunds or compensation for manuscripts withdrawn after acceptance since ETBR does not charge submission fees. However, the article will be excluded from the upcoming publication cycle.

4. Post-Publication Withdrawal:

  • Retraction Request: After an article has been published, the withdrawal is treated as a retraction. Authors who wish to retract a published article must formally notify the editorial office and provide a valid reason for the retraction.

  • Retraction Process: The journal will initiate a formal retraction process and will issue a retraction notice, making it clear that the article has been removed from the public domain.

  • Reason for Retraction: Authors are encouraged to provide a clear, documented reason for the retraction (e.g., errors in the published work, ethical concerns, or issues with data integrity).

  • No Refund or Compensation: As with pre-publication withdrawal, there are no refunds or compensation for retracted articles, as no fees are charged for publication.

5. Special Circumstances for Withdrawal:

  • Ethical or Legal Issues: In cases of ethical violations, such as plagiarism, or legal concerns that arise post-submission, ETBR reserves the right to withdraw or retract a manuscript based on the nature of the issue.

  • Withdrawal Due to Conflicts: If an article is withdrawn due to issues such as conflicts of interest or legal disputes, the journal will handle the matter according to its ethical guidelines.

6. Notification of Withdrawal:

  • Timely Communication: Authors are expected to communicate their intent to withdraw in a timely and formal manner to ensure that the editorial team can promptly remove the manuscript from the review or publication process.

  • Confirmation of Withdrawal: Once the withdrawal request is processed, the editorial office will provide the author with a formal confirmation of the withdrawal, indicating that the manuscript has been removed from the system.

ETBR aims to maintain a fair and transparent process for manuscript submission, review, and publication. The withdrawal policy ensures that authors can manage their work effectively while upholding the integrity of the academic publishing process.
